Sands Beach Spot Guide

Sands Beach is a wide sandy beach that is really popular with UC Santa Barbara students. From the west end of Isla Vista, hike about a ½ mile across the bluff along the coastal path. Sands Beach is really consistent and there can be surf year round. It’s best on a west to northwest swell. There’s a sandy beach break and shifting sandbar spots in front of the Devereux Slough down the beach. Rocks in the lineup can be dangerous during low tides.
