Folly Beach Spot Guide

Folly Beach, just 12 miles south of Charleston, is a great stretch of beach break for beginner surfers and can handle some good size waves during hurricane season. The most popular spot is The Washout. The Washout was named after Hurricane Hugo washed out a block of homes, which once blocked the wind. Folly Beach Pier is another popular spot. You will find long lefts on the south side, but you need to stay 200 ft away and stay in restricted areas.
