Honolua Bay Spot Guide

Honolua Bay is Maui’s most popular spot for experienced surfers when it’s firing. The right-hand point break peels from the far outside, making a long wall, forming Coconuts, The Cave, and Keiki Bowls, surrounded by the majestic Honolua Bay cliffs. The line up will be crowded with world-class surfers during ideal conditions. Incoming swells from the north need to pass between Molokai and Lanai to hit Honolua Bay just right, which means this is a fickle surf spot but worth it for the most loyal surfers. If it’s too intense or too crowded, head down the road to Honokohau Bay.
