Fort Point Spot Guide

The Bay Area’s Fort Point is one of the most unusual surf spots in California. The left at Fort Point breaks beneath the Golden Gate Bridge and can wrap around into the cove. The main spot is a point break that can get powerful and hollow, especially on a big winter swell. The rocks that jut out of the lineup and the strong currents at Fort Point can pose several challenges for even experienced surfers. The bridge and surrounding terrain can block the wind so well that it can be glassy when the other surf spots in the area are totally closed out.
