Tamarack Spot Guide

The surf spots at Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad, CA are at the mouth of a small river and the sandbars that are created by the shifting sand. There are two jetties at Tamarack and the waves wrap around them to create decent surf. The constant movement causes peaky, fun waves with a nice right-hand wave on the south side of the river mouth. Tamarack Beach is situated at just the correct angle to get hit by some of the south swells that cruise straight past the San Diego beaches to the south, making it a very popular summer surf spot.
