Punta Canoas Spot Guide

Punta Canoas is deep in Central Baja on the Pacific Coast and the first of a series of right point breaks called The Seven Sisters. A 4WD vehicle with good clearance is highly recommended to get to this remote point break. The surf spots south of here generally don't work in summer, as they are blocked from south swells by the landmass terminating at Punta Eugenia. It is about 50 miles of driving on rough terrain off the main highway just north of Catavina. If there is rain, it will be all the more difficult and potentially not passable when you encounter areas of fine silt that will suck you vehicle up to it's axles during rain. You can camp on the bluffs above the beach with no one for as far as the eye can see. Be sure to bring plenty of extra fuel, water and all the supplies you will need as there are no services available for hours.
