Poverty Beach Spot Guide

Poverty Beach is at the southern tip of Cape May and offers a little shelter from the mean winter winds and N’oreasters. Waves are fast, hollow beach breaks on an ultra-steep beach. The surf needs a big, long-period swell and a stiff north to northwest wind to really come to life. When it does, it cranks. Poverty Beach surf breaks are best on a northeast to southeast swell.
