Stinson Beach Spot Guide

Stinson Beach is a hugely popular getaway north of San Francisco but people aren’t going to surf. Tourists go to Stinson Beach for the beautiful, crescent-shaped, white sand beach and not necessarily for the surfing which can be mushy and inconsistent. The surf spots face southwest and are sheltered from the winds but tend to close out on any large swell. Surf works the best in spring to fall. Stinson Beach can be fun, but more experienced surfers will head to Point Reyes area if they are looking for serious action.
