Old Orchard Beach Spot Guide

Old Orchard Beach or OOB is a seven-mile beach stretching away from the downtown area. The best surf spot is at the pier where the sand holds position and under ideal conditions produces classic, well-shaped waves. There are long left and rights at Old Orchard Beach on the south or SE swells and winds from the east or SE. The sandy beach break gets crowded with tourists during the summer months. When Maine is going off, more experienced surfers head north to Higgins in search of more consistently, bigger surf.
